Technique Tuesday with Cynthialoowho♥

"Beautiful Texture"

To achieve this look you'll need:
Glossy photo paper
and
a heat gun

Here I have Magnolia Magenta Gold Starburst Spray and Fiddlehead Fern Green Two Toned Embossing Powder Glossy Photo paper and Fusible Webbing. The glossy paper gives your background a shiny finish.
Start heating your fusible webbing directly on the photo paper. It will adhere to the glossy paper.

Once your webbing is adhered choose your favorite Lindy's Stamp Gang Spray and spray sporadically.
While it's wet sprinkle with a dark embossing powder for depth.
Heat set your powder.
Now spray again and sprinkle a light colored Embossing powder for highlights.
Heat set your powder.
Keep heating until you get your desired look. The fusible webbing will keep bubbling and melting from the heat.

FDF: Sprayed Backgrounds

Hi everyone, welcome back to Fantastic Designer Friday, it's me Jo! If you're not familiar with my work, you can find me at my Blog and YouTube Channel: PaperDrama. So for today's project I created a layout using our brand new line called the FLAT FABIO. Currently we have one set of colors and that is the Caribbean Cruise Set.

I used all five colors. These colors were perfect my Hawaiian layout, the photo was taken at Maui, HI.

I laid a floral mask in the background and sprayed the colors: Hibiscus Rose, Luscious Lime and Caribbean Blue. These colors blended so well with one another. To make the floral pattern stand out more I used a white gel pen to draw the outline. I used the same three colors again and sprayed it on some scrap piece of corrugated cardboard I had laying around. I then used the colors: Mango Mania and Pineapple Paradise for the doily. As for the flowers, I used the colors: Hibiscus Rose, Luscious Lime and Pineapple Paradise.

You can watch my start to finish video here for a more detailed look. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. 'Til next Fantastic Designer Friday, have a great weekend everyone!

Technique Tuesday with Cynthialoowho♥

Make fancy backgrounds, cards, and tags!
First get some card stock, Lindy's Stamp Gang two toned embossing powders, a beautiful rich Starburst, Flat Fabio, or Moon Shadow, and some VersaMark.
Here I've chose Midnight Violet Embossing Powder and Tibetan Poppy Teal Starburst.
Crunch your card stock then flatten.
Now rub your VersaMark over the raised edges in the cardstock and sprinkle your embossing powder over the entire piece.
Shake off the excess
Now heat set
Spray your card stock with your favorite Starburst, Flat Fabio, or Moon Shadow!
Let air dry or force dry with your heat gun and run through your die-cut machine with your plates to flatten!

With Lindy's Stamp Gang the possibilities are endless!
It's fun to try all kinds of combinations.

New spray colors!

Nantucket Pearls

Thanks to Arlene, (Butterfly Kisses), our fabulous designer, for this amazing new set.  All these soft, subtle SHABBY CHIC colors have a "barely-there" pearlescence to them.  They are exquisitely subtle, but oh so radiant!

Nantucket Pearls are available as a set or individually and are on sale for a limited time!

Fantastic Designer Friday!

Hello fellow crafters!!

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Limor Webber and I am a designer and the Canadian Distributor for Lindy's Stamp Gang.  Here at Lindy's Headquarters we've been brainstorming on how we can share some more techniques, tips and tricks with "You" our customers to show you all the different amazing ways in which you can use your Lindy's products.  What did we come up with?? Well, we came up with "Fantastic Designer Friday".  Every friday you will get the chance to experience a whole new technique and project shared by our amazing designers.  We have the most versatile team in the business which means you will have the opportunity to see some projects in the different styles such as  "Mixed Media", "Shabby Chic", "Grunge", "Vintage"... you get the point Right? LOL!
I think it's time to share with you the project that I created to share with you.

This Canvas has more techniques than I can share in one post so I am going to share one of the techniques I used in this canvas which you will find below these photos.

Magicals and Modeling Paste

Materials Needed:

  • Modeling Paste ( soft or hard)
  • Magical ( any color of your choice)
  • paint brush
  • palate knife ( popsicle sticks also work great)
  • screen of your choice
  • spray mat

  • Grab a small amount of magical powder with your knife or popsicle stick and place it on your spray mat and take a teaspoon size amount of paste.

  • Start mixing your magical powder  and paste using your knife and watch the paste completely transform into a magical color.
  • If you are using this technique for a large area, my recommendation is you start with smaller amounts of both the magicals and the paste, keep adding a little bit of both until you get the desired color and amount.  Please note: "A small amount of Magicals goes a long way, it is super concentrated".
  • Take your screen that you have chosen and place it on the surface that you will be designing on

  • Start spreading the colored paste on your screen using the knife.  Note:  You may experience some anxiety while doing this if you've never done this before as it looks kind of horrible while doing it but once you lift the screen off it's pure MAGIC ;).
  • Now all that's left to do is lift the screen and you have a transformed surface for you to create with.  Most Modeling paste takes a good while to dry but I am not one that likes to wait around so I use my trusted heat gun so I can keep creating.

This journal page is no where near done so if you want to see the finished result come back to the Lindy's Youtube channel in a couple days and I will share my finished product where I will be using our brand new "Flat Fabio's Set" to finish it off.
For a more detailed view of my canvas you can view the video below.

Flat Fabios are in 'da house!

Tired of all that shimmer?  So is Fabio, our fabulous bulldog, (it gets in his drool). He decided to branch out and create a spray that has no shimmer, just amazingly juicy color! Of course, he had to name it after himself, so the Flat Fabios are here!

Our first set is the Caribbean Cruise set.
These are super bright, super vibrant colors that are PERFECT for spring and summer!

Technique Tuesday with Cynthialoowho♥

"Easter Eggs"
Color Shots have a wide mouth, perfect for dipping eggs in to color!
I chose Witch's Potion Purple for the main color and then some beautiful Blazing Sun mica's.
There are so many possibilities to color your eggs. Please make sure once your egg is peeled you rinse well so no LSG is left on the egg. If you plan to eat them.
I have a jumbo egg so I dip one side then the other and let dry.
Once your egg is dry you can add more coats, more colors, drips, swirls, dots, etc.
I'm using Versa Mark and a swirl cling stamp with out the block so I can stamp my image on the round surface.
After stamping your image apply Magical Mica or Mica with a dry paint brush in a swirling motion.
