Fantastic Designer Friday with Bona (livelovescrap)

Hello Everyone!
I'm excited to share with you another Fantastic Designer Friday project I created using the fabulous Flat Fabio Sprays. These past several weeks I've been having so much fun creating mixed media projects and thought it would be really fun to create some Burlap journal books with Muslin fabric and Watercolor paper. You can also use Canvas paper, card stock paper and so much more. All the Lindy Stamp Gang products are dye based and can be used on any porous surface therefore, the Muslin fabric was perfect as my pages.

I painted in all the Dylusions stamped images with a #2 Round paint brush. I just love how beautiful and vibrant the colors appear on the Muslin. I first sprayed both pages with the Lucious Lime , Caribbean Blue and Magical Mai Tai. The leaves are hand painted with Luscious Lime and the house were also hand painted with T-bird Turquoise, Mango Mania, Flying Monkey Midnight, Hibiscus Rose, Summer Lovin' Sun, and Frenchy's Pink Pouf. I then stamped a few of my background stamps and added some modeling paste using The Crafters Workshop Ledger template. To keep the pages from fraying, I burnt the edges using my lighter. I really liked how it also give it a vintage look to it. I hope you enjoyed my featured project for Fantastic Designer Friday. Look out for next Friday's projects. Happy Friday!!!

Fantastic Designer Friday with Yvonne (ScrapBliss)

Hello friends, it's Yvonne again! Hope you're having a lovely day.  It's Friday so it's gotta be good, right? If you're like me, you're anxious to spend some time crafting this weekend!

But before I bust out my paper, glue, and Lindy's, I want to share the project
I completed last weekend...

I was inspired by some interesting guidelines set forth in a challenge I was wanted to participate in.  It required the use of a set of random items. The items were as follows: a tp roll, acrylic paint, gift wrapping tissue (the kind you use to stuff in a gift bag,) and chipboard.

So these are the items I stared with...

Part of the requirement was that these items must be used, but you could add any other embellishment.  I've been totally intriged by all of the Mixed Media projects so many of our fellow crafters have been making, and figured this would be a good time to try.  I've also been itching to try out the new Flat Fabios.  The colors are amazing - so rich and vibrant!  Well, I ended up using a TON of Lindy's... starting with the Fabios and working my way through Moon Shadows, Embossing Powers, Glitz Spritz, and Starburst Stains!  Woohoo!!!  My fingers were so stained, I had to scrub then several times!

Here's a collage of some of the preliminary steps of getting this started:

Once I prepared the chipboard to use as a faux canvas (lol!) I used colors from the Go Greased Lightnin' Set, specifically I used Greased Lightnin' Green & Danny Zuko Denim.

Next, I prepared the items I wanted to lay on the chipboard.

I used Grab a Guy Gold Starburst Stain on the painted tp roll, and I used it to make the flowers. The wood veneer cloud was painted white, sprayed with Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz, and stamped with a dictionary print stamp.   Moon Shadow Ink in Van Dyke Sepia was used to stain the wood fence, and then sprayed it with Catus Gold.  The little chipboard bird has a base coat of white paint, and then a layer of several of the Beauty School Drop-Out Flat Fabio collection.  For a finishing coat I embossed it with Magic Moon Pearls

Last I added a few flowers, leaf ribbon, and tiny butterflies as finishing touches.  And taa-daaaaa, one completed Mixed Media Faux Canvas completed! Yay!!! No wonder everyone's making them - I had tons of FUN, and hope you'll try and LOVE it!

Well my friends, I hope you enjoyed today's visit to our blog.  Our hopes are to inspire you, motivate you to create, and share techniques & ideas.  And of course, we love showing off our Lindy's!!!
Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you have a great weekend with lots of fabulousity! LOL!
Hugs,
yvonne

Fantastic Designer Friday with Jo Thompson

Hi everyone Jo here. I hope that you all are having a fabulous Friday. I wanted to share with you my project. Last FDF Yvonne showed you the Nantucket Pearl Sprays. This week I'm using the same colors but instead of the sprays I used the Nantucket Pearl Magicals.

Here is my card. It measures 5" x 5". The base is white cardstock and I layered kraft cardstock and corrugated cardboard. These colors are perfect for a beach theme, they are very soft and the pearl shimmer is subtle but effective. I used my Copic markers for the skin only. The rest of the mermaid image is colored with the Magicals (Clam Bake Biege, Sea Grass Green, Whale Watch Blue). So even if you don't have all the colors in your markers the Magicals make an amazing substitute for coloring images.

I had taken white seam binding and sprayed it with the Sea Grass Green Spray to mimic seaweed. The starfish brass charm was perfect for the under the sea theme I was going for. I also added a seahorse charm at the corner. The doily behind the stamped image was sprayed with Whale Watch Blue, Clam Bake Biege and Sea Grass Green.

The sentiment that I stamped was "You Inspire Me" from Hero Arts and I used white embossing powder on vellum paper. To finish the card I added some Flat back pearls at the top.

So there is my project share for you guys today. Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to visit the Lindy's Stamp Gang shop.
