Fimo Clay Roses

You can color your Fimo with Magical Mica's, you must use Magical's as they have pigment in them.

Here I've chosen Ramblin Rose Pink Magical & Oakleaf Olive

Add a small amount to your clay and mix well.

Here is the clay after being mixed next to the white Fimo.

Make pea size balls, then flatten them.

I used a stamp block.

Start molding your rose! Here I just turned one side inward to create the bud.

Add your petals and overlap one side. To create a spiral of petals.

Once your petals are in place cut the excess at the bottom and keep to color for the leaves.

Here I added Oakleaf Olive Mica, I wanted a soft green so I used a mica.

Here are 3 pellet's I made to create the leaves.

Now cut your leaf shape with some jaggity edge deco scissors.

Draw the veins with something pointy.

The instructions on Fimo soft say to bake @ 230 for 30 minutes.

Here is my finished Rose with leaves.

Shimmering Garden Shadow Box

Hi everyone, it's Sharon here and 

I waned to share a small shadow box I created for the Lindy's Stamp Gang booth at CHA this winter. It was one of the projects I completed for the booth and I just love how it turned out. 

I found this little box at the dollar store, and thought I could do something with it...I didn't know what at the time, but I knew it would be good for something, maybe a shadow box layout? Yes, that's exactly what I turned it into, and it went from this:

There was a lot I did to this box, and I love how it came out.... I had a picture of a garden on my mind, and I think I achieved it. What do you think?

First I prepped the box with guesso. After that dried, I applied a coat of brown acrylic paint. when that dried, I put a coat of crackle medium, and then some ivory acrylic paint, all to achieve the crackle finish you can see all over the box. After all that dried, I sprayed the entire box with Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Stain for some shimmer.

I used one of My Favorite Thing's banner dies, and cut out the banner from designer paper by Colorbok (Flea Market Collection). I then sprayed the banner pieces with Scintilating Silver Glitz Spritz, and afterwards added to the banner some Maya Road chipboard letters, which I sprayed with Cadbury Milk Chocolate Startburst Stain. In between each banner piece I added some tiny mulberry paper roses which I sprayed with different Starburst Stains:  Cotton Candy Pink and Alpine Ice Gold. Afterwards, I embossed the tips of these roses with some Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder in the color Hibiscus Rose Orange. LOVE embossing the tips of the petals of my flowers!

I also used some Lindy's Stamp Gang butterfly charm pieces, which I embossed with Dandelion Yellow embossing powder, and finished off with some white pearls on their centers.

I punched some butterflies out of cardstock using two different Martha Stewart butterfly punches. I then sprayed the butterflies with Icy Primrose Gold Starburst Stain, and sprinkled some embossing powder in the color Byzantine Bronze, just to add more texture and shimmer to them.

I used some glittered green sprays, as well as some vintage white bud sprays in the backgrouns, which I got at my local craft store. Behind the picture of my Emily I used a Kaiser Craft wood birdcage piece, which I sprayed with my Starburst Stain in the color Golden Lump of Coal. The stain gave it just the right touch of shimmer.

I filled in the rest of the box with different sized mulberry roses which I colored using my Starburst Stains in the following colors: Alpine Ice Rose, Tiffany's Blue, Wild Honey Suckle Coral and Scintilating Silver.

The wood stand that holds the box was also purchased at the dollar store. Can you believe it?

Turn your Magical Mica's into alcohol inks!

Here I have Isopropyl Alcohol, Screamin Banshee Black Magical, and a pink & cream cameo. I want to change the color to something that will match a project so I just mix a little alcohol with some Magicals and voila I have the perfect cameo for my project!

To make the image pop I added some silver rub-n-buff

Beautiful Blend

To give your mulberry flowers dimension and a beautiful two toned effect moisten or mist them with water before coloring with Starbursts & Moon Shadows.

Once flower is moistened kiss the tips with a paintbrush and your favorite Starburst or Moon Shadow.

I used Afternoon Delight Denim Starburst on the rose and Lucky Shamrock Green Starburst on the petal.

Painting with the perfect products

Hooroo!!! Linda Baldock here...I have snuck in while nobody was looking just to share some of my creations using Lindy's stamp Gang products. Those who know me or follow me on Facebook or my own blog Eclectic Visions of an Altered Journey will know that I am an experimental artist and I love to play with different genres just as much as different products. Lately I have taken a break from my usually multidimensional work and had a relaxing time painting...I don't use anything I don't trust and with Lindy's Stamp Gang products I get exactly what I want in reliable outcomes...vibrant, lasting colours and the right amount of shimmer from the original and best dye sprays that I have ever used.
All my students and all the stores I work for know that if I don't have my Lindy's Stamp Gang products I am not a happy camper.
